Jacky Dakin has worked as an Organisational Psychologist for 25 years. She has run Halifax House Consulting since 1995 and provides services in both organisational and private psychology. In the corporate arena she works specialises in leadership development, conflict mediation, dysfunctional teams and workplace wellbeing.
Jacky is a principal of Dakin McEwen with Kathryn McEwen. Together they present professional development programs and are sought after public speakers and are co-authors of a successful book. Jacky is also a principal of CoachPartners a consortium of professional organisational consultants providing services in Executive Coaching and Organisational Development.
Jacky is active on boards and committees, frequently mentors younger colleagues and was a former finalist in the Telstra Business Woman of the Year. She was previously a columnist in Saturday’s Advertiser Review, writing on personal and professional wellbeing. She has co-authored a successful book Short Poppies Can Grow: Confidence at Work and a well-received e-book How to Be Successful Despite Yourself: Don’t Kill Your Hamster. Her latest book Learn to Dance on a Moving Carpet: How to create a balanced and meaningful life has now been published.
Jacky is a qualified Marriage Celebrant. She enjoys using her writing and public speaking skills in a different arena to assist couples to make their special day memorable.

Jacky co-authored a successful book, Short Poppies Can Grow: Confidence at Work. This was launched by Dr Jane Lomax-Smith, former Minister of Education and featured on a variety of radio shows. She has also had published a well-received business e-book entitled How to Be Successful Despite Yourself: Don’t Kill Your Hamster. Her latest book was published in June 2015, Learn to Dance on a Moving Carpet: How to create a balanced and meaningful life. This was launched by Hon. Amanda Rishworth, Federal Member for Kingston, S.A. and Assistant Shadow Minister for Education and Higher Education. Jacky frequently writes articles for newsletters and professional magazines. Mentor
Jacky is a popular mentor for younger colleagues and former coaching clients. She also frequently mentors Masters Degree students in Organisational Psychology and enables them to see their previously learned theories in practice, helping them undertake their required placements for the course.
Public Speaker
Jacky is a sought after public speaker for keynote addresses at conferences, breakfast and lunch seminars. She provides workshops on a diverse range of topics. She and her colleague Kathryn McEwen are included as part of the Onya Soapbox stable of public speakers.

Together with Kathryn McEwen, she has also been a principal of Dakin McEwen over the last 21 years.
Jacky and Kathryn are featured as keynote speakers as part of the Onya Soapbox public speaking team.
